Projects

From the first site outward, instrumented

We develop our own facilities and projects integrated into our partners' value chains. In both models, we turn residual biomass into biochar and generate verified carbon removals. We are starting in Portugal and preparing to expand to Mozambique and Angola.

Offsetting

We develop our own biochar production facilities. We measure and document the CO₂ removals, which are verified by independent bodies before the certification programme issues the credits. Companies can buy these credits to support climate action beyond their own value chain.

Facility 1 · Miranda do Corvo · In development

First facility: from biomass to verified removal

The first facility is being developed in Miranda do Corvo, in the Coimbra district, collecting fire-risk forestry and agricultural residue from a 50–100 km radius: the biomass that fuels the fire season becomes the feedstock for the reactor. The protocol with the municipality covers siting and permitting; it is not a feedstock supply agreement. Commissioning targets mid 2027, with first commercial production the same year. Every removal is verified by an independent body before any credit is issued.

First industrial facility

Facility 1, in Miranda do Corvo, is designed for 50,000 t/yr of feedstock, instrumented from day one, with every batch analysed by an accredited laboratory. Facility 2 is the next step in Portugal.

Units inside partner value chains

Three to four units sited at partner operations, converting their own residue. The removal lands in their footprint rather than on the open market. In discussion with partners now.

Build journal

Facility 1, as it happens

A pre-launch company asks you to believe a schedule. The least we can do is let you watch it: what moved, when, and what it unblocks. Updated as the build proceeds, including the months when little happens.

Counting method published in full

Every gate, measurement and reconciliation rule behind a Recarbono tonne is now public, before a single tonne exists to be flattered by them. The standard can be audited today and held to as the first site comes online.

July 2026

Protocol signed with Miranda do Corvo

A site and permitting protocol with the Câmara Municipal of the municipality around our first site. It covers siting and permitting cooperation; it is not a feedstock supply agreement, and we will not describe it as one.

June 2026

Partnership with CBE

The Centro da Biomassa para a Energia joins the build: the national reference for biomass in Portugal, and the technical partner for feedstock characterisation.
